ILM Levels 5 & 7 In Executive Coaching & Mentoring

This is a nationally recognised qualification

These qualifications are designed for senior and middle managers and HR/OD professionals who want to develop their expertise and credibility in the fields of coaching and mentoring, or to establish coaching on an organisational level. It’s also for professional coaches and mentors seeking to enhance and accredit their experience with a nationally recognised qualification.

The programmes are facilitated by Andy Matheson, MD, Development Training Company, who has over 20 years’ experience consulting and facilitating at senior level, Ann Akers, an experienced coach supported by a track record of excellence at Board Level.   They work with a range of private, public and third sector clients and between them they have thousands of hours of coaching and supervision experience and insights to share.

The courses include three 2-day workshop modules with regular practice sessions, and three group supervision sessions. They are modular in format to maximise the levels of support as people progress through the formal qualification which includes three written assignments.  Materials include impressive handouts that contain many useful tools and models that you will be able to use during your coaching sessions.

The programmes are offered in-house and as open programmes.

Module 1

Understanding the context of coaching and mentoring in a strategic business environment.

This ILM Level 7 two-day programme explores coaching in a strategic context in detail. You will refresh some key coaching and mentoring skills; it is assumed that people working at this level already have some core skills in place. We will look at the challenges facing senior people and how coaching and mentoring can best support those at the sharp end of the organisation. We will explore some of the core methods and skills required to work with senior leaders.

Module 2

Undertaking coaching or mentoring at a senior and strategic level.

This ILM Level 7 two-day module is rich in models, tools and methods. We will allow time for an immersion into their use, power and limitations. Participants will come away with a rich toolkit of methods and ideas to enhance their own coaching sessions.

Module 3

Reflecting on your own ability to perform effectively as a coach or mentor practicing at a senior level.

This ILM Level 7 two-day programme contains a number of elements to help you reflect on your own coaching skills and development needs. We will also introduce the Discovery Insights tool to explore the use of preference theory with clients.
