New chapter and new speaking engagement
New chapter and new speaking engagement I am delighted and honoured to be facilitating a “Power hour” for APAC (The Asia Pacific Alliance of Coaches) on Wednesday 2nd September at 1130 UK time. This 90 minute session is on How to be a Thinking Partner and will include a demonstration and opportunities for practice, based on Nancy Kline’s Time To Think©. We may all try hard to listen well and this is a chance to really explore what not interrupting can feel like!
And I am so thrilled at a new book that came out on 24th August. Called The Coaching Supervision Casebook Meeting Your Supervisees’ NEEDS it is a wonderful array of case studies edited by Jeremy Lewis. It is an invaluable book with its varied case studies as well as an introduction to Jeremy’s model, based on his research, called NEEDS (Noticing, Exploring, Evaluating, Developing and Supporting). With huge thanks to one of my amazing supervision groups, we have a case study in there (case study 17) called ‘Using recordings to take us to our learning edge – on the theme of “am I enough?”‘ The group – Jo Cleary, Hermann Ditzig, Fee Jacob and Anna Lewis – have worked together for some time. In this case study Jo brought a recording of one of her own supervision sessions, with Dawn Spencer, to the group. The trust, honesty and vulnerability of Jo and Dawn was a true gift. We hope you like the chapter, which is unique in that it has the supervisor (me) perspective, the case presenter (Jo) perspective, the group members’ perspectives, and Dawn’s perspective.
